Palmeri Adán is a long-aged wine made from old Garnacha grapes from the Palmeri Sicilia winery. A mountain wine born in the small village of Tabuenca at the foot of the Moncayo, in the well-known Campo de Borja wine region.

Made from the region's star varietal, Garnacha, which is the absolute protagonist of the winery's wines. Palmeri Adán is a tribute to the Cuartero family's great-grandfather, the forerunner in the 1950s of what is today the winery in the Tabuenca mountain range. It is a limited production, handcrafted, and organically certified.

Vinification:

Hand-harvesting. Grape selection, both in the vineyard and in the winery. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation is carried out in French oak vats.

Aged for 12 months in vats, followed by a further 36 months in 225-litre French and American oak barrels and another 15 months in bottle to complete its refinement. The ageing in barrel takes place in the caves, the old cellar located underground in caves, where the wines were aged in the past. Here, it enjoys the perfect conditions for its ageing due to the constant temperature, which allows the wine to mature slowly and steadily .

Tasting notes:  

Clean, dark, cherry colour. Pure, unmasked Garnacha, with excellent intensity and complexity on the nose. It offers an intense aromatic range, with notes of ripe red and black fruits, wild herbs, minerals and spices. The palate is ample and full-bodied, with a good fruit presence and ripe and smooth tannins. Well-integrated acidity. And the finish is long and persistent!.

The wine has great ageing potential.

PALMERI SICILIA

The Palmeri Sicilia winery was born through the association between two families, Spanish-Swiss, the Cuartero-Cuartero brothers and the Breitschmid Heiniger family, producers of organic wines. The project started in 2012 with the acquisition of the three brothers' vineyards in their hometown of Tabuenca in the renowned wine region of Campo de Borja. The result is a small boutique winery that has become known for producing high-quality wines where the Grenache grape is the absolute protagonist.

The grapes come from the 13 hectares of their own organically farmed vineyards, some of which have vines over 50 years old. Their yields are very low and produce grapes of great concentration. The vines grow at an altitude of over 700 meters, where they enjoy favourable exposure that benefits the grape's ripeness and gives them their distinct personality.
