The only white wine produced by the 4 Kilos Vinícola winery. A naturally elaborated and certified organic white wine of the native Prensal variety, growing on “call vermell” soil, the popular name for calcareous clay soils that are rich in ferric oxide.

Production: 

A dry white wine fermented naturally that underwent three types of vinification: 35% carbonic maceration in stainless steel tanks, 35% maceration at a controlled temperature, and 30% maceration in clay.

Bottled unfiltered, unclarified, and without added sulphite.

Tasting Notes:

Dry, fresh wine with citrus and juicy acidity, herbaceous notes, basic white and tropical fruit aromas, and a mineral undertone.

THE WINERY

4 Kilos is the project of the oenologist Francesc Grimalt, former partner of the Mallorcan winery Ánima Negra, and Sergio Caballero, a musician and partner in the project.

The company was founded in 2006, and the first vintage for its first wine, 4 Kilos 2006, was elaborated in the garage of a winegrower friend. The project started with a small budget but with excellent grapes, hence the name "4 Kilos", which was the initial investment of the two partners in pesetas (4 million pesetas). Since 2007, the wines have been made in their new converted bodega, which is located in a former sheep barn on the outskirts of Felanitx.

From that point on, the project started to climb to the top with a commitment to quality and passion for the product, gaining significant recognition and adding new winemaking projects. From the beginning, they have had the support of the winegrowers, carrying out a rational and environmentally friendly viticulture. The vineyards are located in different municipalities in the south and north of the island; for that reason, they do not belong to any D.O.
