Les Terrasses is Álvaro Palacio's first wine and the first in volume of sales.
The wine is worldwide recognised for its simplicity, freshness, elegance and its incredible ageing potential.

It is a blend of grapes sourced from seven different municipalities within the DOQ Priorat: Gratallops, La Vilella Baixa, Bellmunt, El Lloar, El Molar, Porrera and Torroja. The vines range from 29 to 90 years in age and are growing on steep slopes, or "costers", made up of slate (llicorella) at altitudes between 350 and 640 metres with varying orientations.

Production:

Part of the grapes are vinified whole and partly destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts takes place in cement, stainless steel tanks and in wood with pigeage. The malolactic fermentation is done in wooden vats and barrels.

Aged for 12 months in French oak and bocoyes. Bottled unclarified and unfiltered.

Notes: The wine is at its optimum moment of consumption from its fifth year in bottle. It has great ageing potential.

Tasting Notes:

A fresh, smooth, and deep wine. Aromas of black cherries and blackberries. Hints of spice and minerals. Well-balanced and has good acidity. Long and elegant finish.
