Clos Petó contains a higher amount of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache. It has matured in 3rd and 4th-year French oak barrels for 14 months (depending on the barrels). The wines are bottled after a light filtration.
Clos Petó is bottled under the classification of "Vi de la Vila" from Porrera. This legislation, introduced in 2009 by the DOQ Priorat, recognises and protects each region’s different characteristics, such as viticulture, climate, soil, etc., with the purpose of highlighting their particular characteristics.
Tasting notes:
Good intensity of ripe red fruits, sweet spices and a lovely nose of integrated fruit and oak combined with minerals. On the palate, it displays good dark fruit with hints of sweet oak, beautifully balanced with spice, oak and tannins. Warm and ripe, it opens out with time.
Notes: It is recommended to let it breathe in the glass for a short time to achieve its maximum potential. It can be enjoyed through 2030.
Clos Dominic is a small family winery that has produced small quantities of lovely handcrafted wines with all their passion since they were established in 1998, a 100% family-team work effort, caring to produce the best possible wine while remaining faithful to the terroir and their ancestors' customs. Their quality is their success, as is the authentic personality of the great Priorat wines.
They practise sustainable and minimalist viticulture, totally respecting the values of the fruit and the traditional winemaking process. They count on one of the best parcels in the Priorat, "La Tena", which is located in the municipal district of Porrera at an altitude of 430 metres and comprises 7 hectares of vineyards with an age range of 64–100 years.
