La Carenyeta is a 100% Carinyena wine. It comes from a small plot in the municipality of Porrera named "Els Arbres". Here, the almost centenary, low-yielding vines are growing on the characteristic slate soils, "Llicorella", in Costers. at an altitude between 350 and 700 metres above sea level.
Harvested manually. The wine has been aged for 14 months in French oak barriques.
Tasting Notes:
Clean, elegant nose of healthy fruit, minerals and toasted notes. On the palate, elegant and smooth with a touch of well-integrated oak, nicely balanced with good fruit and hints of sweet oak. Finishes long. Good character and expression of region.
Celler Cal Pla is a small, family-run winery dating back to 1814. It is located in the village of Porrera, a small village in the heart of the highly acclaimed wine region of Priorat. Cal Pla is the name of the family and the house, which gives the name to the wines. They can be proud of their more than 200-year history, which has seen various generations working hard, growing vines, and making wines to pass on the legacy to their descendants.
Today, the winery is in the hands of the seventh generation of the Sangenís family, led successfully by Joan Sangenís, and produces a range of wines from grapes cultivated in the family’s own vineyards and bottled in their cellar.
