Production: Madeira is a fortified wine style from the volcanic island of Madeira. Barbeito, a family-run Madeira producer, is one of the finest producers of Madeira wines. Founded in 1946 by Mario Barbeito has been passed on to the next generations to carry-on with the work, still preserving the traditional methods of making and aging Madeira wine.
This is a dry wine produced on the Portuguese Island of Madeira. Made from Tinta Negra grapes grown on steeply terraced slopes of volcanic soil, grapes from various quality vineyards are pressed in a pneumatic press. Arresting of fermentation takes place at the desired degree of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol (96%). Matured in oak cask for up to 3 years before blended and bottled. Sugar: 44.5 g/dm3
Notes: This is a fresh, invigorating and light bodied wine. Caramelized fruits, figs, round and balanced with a soft dry end.
It can be served as an aperitif, nuts, tapas and cheese. Keep in a cool dry place. It was filtered and will keep well several months after opening
