Vinification:

Orange white wine, made as a red wine. A 100% Grenache wine made from organic grapes sourced from a combination of older and younger vines.

Hand-picked and selected at the winery. Destemmed grapes and crushed. Fermentation in concrete tanks with the skins for 20 days before pressing. Aged for 5 months in three 600-litre amphorae.

Tasting Notes: 

Intense golden colour with orange reflections. Fragrant nose that combines notes of Mediterranean herbs along with hints of quince and orange peel zest. On the palate, it shows freshness and complexity. Flavours of aromatic herbs and dried fruits. Long aftertaste with hints of dry almonds and a slight bitterness reminiscent of orange peel.

THE WINERY

Herencia Altés is the project of Nuria Altés, daughter and granddaughter of a local wine-growing family in Batea, the main village in Terra Alta, with a long tradition in wine production and accounting for 50% of its entire grape production. Her wines come from the family's vineyards, which are scattered throughout the hillside around the village of Batea. They produce excellent-value wines.

The winery produces and grows its grapes organically, and all the wines are duly certified by the authority CCPAE, the Catalan Council of Organic Production, the public watchdog responsible to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Catalan Government.
