Clos Dominic surprises once more with its first single-varietal Merlot wine. It comes from Merlot vines that are over 25 years old and grow at the family's famous "La Tena" estate. These grapes are part of the blend of Clos Dominic Vinyes Baixes.
The wine was born after coming across the excellent quality of the merlot grapes for the vintage 2023. It made a big impact for its elegance and distinction, displaying the beautifully marked notes of the terroir of La Tena. The distinctive qualities have captivated its creators, inspiring them to save it and give it the honour of a life of its own.
Production:
Aged for 14–16 months in second-year French Allier oak. The wines are bottled after a light filtration process.
A total of 266 numbered bottles have been produced produced.
Clos Dominic is a small family winery that elaborates with all their passion and perfectionism on small quantities of lovely, well-made, handcrafted wines, a 100% family-team work effort since they were established in 1998, caring to produce always the best possible wine while remaining faithful to the terroir and their ancestors customs.
Their quality is their success, together with the authentic personality of the great Priorat wines. They practice sustainable and minimalist viticulture, totally respecting the values of the fruit and the traditional process of making wine. They count with their best assets, which are "La Tena", 7 ha. of vineyards ranging in age from 64 to 100 years, and one of the best parcels in the Priorat, located in the municipal district of Porrera at an altitude of 430 meters.
