This classic Rioja wine has been aged in American oak for 14 months, followed by another 8 months in bottle before its release.
Tasting Notes: On the nose: ripe wild berries and balsamic aromas with a hint of pepper, vanilla, and bay leaf. Fresh, with smooth flavours of ripe fruits on the palate. Long and pleasant, spicy finish. A classic-style fruit-and-oak blend that is well integrated, well done, easy to drink, and very enjoyable. VEGAN SUITABLE.
Notes: Drink now through 2027. It goes very well with cold meats, light cheeses, meat dishes, and meaty fish.
THE WINERY
Ramón Bilbao, an experienced wine trader from Haro in the Rioja Alta, founded the company in 1924. A family-owned winery handed down from generation to generation until 1966, when the last of the descendants passed away. Today, it is owned by the family business, Diego Zamora S.A., one of Spain's largest beverage groups and the producer of the well-known brand Licor 43. Ramón Bilbao is a well-known and popular reference on the local market for producing high-quality wines that are true to their origins at fair prices.
