Gramona takes pride in being the country’s first producer of "Marc de Cava" in the 1970s.

This is obtained through the partial distillation of grape marc and the wine from cavas disgorged by hand. A distillate of the "cava mothers", the yeasts expelled after the manual disgorging of the cavas, derived from the long ageing of the Gramona cavas with cork stoppers. Wines of the Xarel.lo and Parellada varieties from organic and biodynamic agriculture.

From there, a distillation process is carried out, carefully separating the heads and tails, using only the heart of the distillate, the highest quality part. The "hollands" and the marc from the skins of the grapes are aged separately, both in French oak and chestnut barrels. Some of the Hollands are also aged in stainless steel tanks for up to 2 years.

The result is a Marc Liqueur with a wide range of aromas and flavours. On the nose, it displays sensations of ripe stone fruit intermixed with sweet notes such as honey, orange marmalade, and caramel. Hints of Mediterranean herbs add freshness. On the palate, it is dense with a velvety texture and a sweet and long finish.
