The winery's flagship white wine is a single varietal of Chardonnay fermented in barrels. Grapes sourced from their own vineyard, the oldest in Somontano, in an unirrigated area at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level on limestone soils that are not very fertile. Produced by Bodegas y Viñedos del Alto Aragón, better known as Enate, it was founded in 1991. It is one of the leading wineries in Somontano that creates a wide range of high-quality modern wines in the foothills of the Pyrenees, northeast of the province of Huesca.
Production:
The grapes are harvested at their optimal ripeness. The grapes go through a pneumatic press, where they are gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels, where the wine will remain on its lees for 7 months with fortnightly battonages.
Tasting Notes:
Good varietal expression; aromatic nose of tropical fruit, pineapple, and grapefruit, along with light smoky touches. The palate is dense and ample, layered with a light, creamy oak and fresh acidity. A wine of great balance between fruit and oak. Long finish displaying fine toasted nuances.
