La Mujer Cañon is one of the four wines born from the collaboration of the Uvas Felices project and Comando G, a group of enologists and wine growers from the Sierra de Gredos area, who elaborate wines from the Grenache variety. The vineyards are located in Cadalso de los Vidrios, within the D.O. Vinos de Madrid, at an altitude of 900 m above sea level and on granitic soils in which biodynamic principles are applied.
La Mujer Cañon is a single-varietal Garnacha wine sourced from a tiny plot of just 1 hectare located in Cadalso de los Vidrios (Madrid). A north-facing vineyard planted in 1934 on granite soil at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level.
Production:
Grapes selected both in the vineyards and in the winery with low yields, just 25 hl/ha, and vinified without destemming in a wooden vat.
Ageing takes place in a 1400-litre foudre and a 700-litre barrel for 14 months. Production of 2800 bottles.
Tasting Notes:
Quite expressive, aromatic, and elegant. A much fresher vintage, which shows in a clear, open nose with layers of black fruits coming out over the red fruit, as well as clear notes of aromatic herbs and nectarines. The palate displays balance and freshness with fine tannins and a softer and more elegant finish.
