Finca Pombeiras is one of the winery's top wines, an excellent representative of the terroir with great ageing potential and a very limited production; only 800 bottles were produced in this vintage.

Finca Pombeiras is a vineyard owned by Bodegas Guímaro in Ribera Sacra. The wine comes exclusively from this small, south-facing vineyard at 350-400 metres above sea level, planted with Mencía vines over 70 years old, growing on granite and slate soils. Half of the wine from this estate is labelled La Penitencia; this is one of the great wines made by the renowned winemaker Raúl Pérez.

Finca Pombeiras is made from a blend where the Mencía has a leading role, along with 20% of other local red varieties.

Harvested by hand. Fermented in open-top barrels with 100% full clusters and autochthonous yeasts. Matured for 12 months in used 500-litre French oak barrels.

Tasting Note:

Intense red-ruby colour. The nose is dominated by notes of dark fruit such as blackberries, blueberries, spices and light floral hints. Full-bodied, complex, balanced with an elegant mineral vein and soft tannins.

ADEGAS GUÍMARO is a small family winery that produces a small and selected amount of wine in the traditional way. They own 8 hectares comprising of 30 to 100-year-old vines and work another 12 to 14 hectares under their control. The vines are planted in single row plots in a privileged natural setting on steep slopes ranging between 50% and 70%. They collaborate with other wineries such as Niepoort and Raúl Pérez.
