Production: 

A lively, fruit-forward Grenache blend from the younger vines growing on very poor slate soil at an altitude of around 400 metres above sea level.

The grapes are hand-sorted at the winery. They undergo gentle pressing and are fermented in temperature-controlled 1000-litre stainless steel tanks. Aged for 6 months in the same tanks.

Clos Figueras was purchased in 1997 by Charlotte and Christopher Cannan on the recommendation of Réne Barbier; the 18-hectare estate is located just to the north of the famed town of Gratallops. Actually the vineyard includes around 2500 old Grenache and Carignan vines, which are the base for the Clos Figueres; the rest of the vines were planted in 1998 and are the base for the elaboration of Font de la Figuera and Sierras del Priorat.  

Tasting Notes: 

Pale yellow in colour with green highlights, clean and bright. It displays excellent freshness with an aromatic profile characterised by fruity notes such as peach, apricot and white fruit like pear, with hints of fresh herbs and minerality. On the palate, freshness and minerality in harmony with a fruit finish and great freshness.
