This third wine from LaFou Celler expresses the depth, identity, and authenticity of the territory of Terra Alta.

Production:  

Fermented at 26 ºC and submitted to three daily pigeages. Vinification of the grapes from each plot separately in 3000-5000 kg tanks.

Aged for 6 months in used oak barrels: 70% French, 20% Central European, and 10% American.

Tasting Notes:

Good complexity of aromas, displaying a wonderful balance of maturity, volume, and freshness, with scents of blackberry, dried flowers, and balsamic notes. Remarkable freshness on the palate, complemented with fresh fruits and lovely hints of spice and liquorice, interplaying in harmony. Finishing nicely with soft tannins.

Notes: Drink during the next 2–3 years.

Lafou Celler is the personal project that Ramon Roqueta started in 2007. He set his sights on Terra Alta, one of the most authentic wine-growing areas with a long history and great potential.

He is a young member of the well-known Roqueta family in Pla de Bages (Abadal Celler), who have been wine growers for a number of generations and from whom he has inherited not only all the enthusiasm, commitment, and passion for the wine but also all the respect for the earth and its fruits, which he now wants to transmit into his own personal project.

Lafou Celler is located in the village of Batea, right in the village’s main square. The vineyard is between 300 and 500 meters above sea level and consists of 60 ha north of the municipal district of Batea.
