Production: An Exquisite very old sweet Liquor wine from the vines Pajarete, produced from a selection of Moscatel and the Grenache variety, a combination of both black and white. Bottled from the oldest De Muller solera dating back to 1851, the same year as the Winery was founded and bears the name of the founder himself, Sir Augusto De Muller.
Founded in 1851, De Muller is a top name in Tarragona, very well-known world-wide for being the supplier of the traditional Mass wine and for its rancio and fortified wines. At present, De Muller offers a very wide range of quality wines under the Denomination of Origin: Tarragona and also in Priorat and Terra Alta. From the beginning of 1996, the winery, surrounded by its vineyards, is located in the Finca “Mas de Valls” in Reus (Tarragona), their modern installations have a capacity for a production of four million liters, here they elaborate the Tarragona Denomination of Origin wines all sourced from their 150 ha. of own vineyards. They also have a property in the village of El Molar, in the south-eastern part of el Priorat, 34 Ha. of vineyards, “Mas de les Pusses” and a new cellar with a capacity for 500.000 liters where it is produced the Priorat Denomination of Origin wines.
Tasting Notes: Dark mahogany color with an amber rim and endless tears. It displays a huge concentration of intense aromas, roasted coffee, dried plums, figs and raisins combined with herbal notes as rosemary, thyme and lavender. Very elegant on the palate, a hell of mouth-filling flavors, layers of never ending pleasures with an impeccable balance sweetness and acidity that seduces you right to its ever-lasting finish. Delicious to drink now and will go on for years!!!
Note: As all fortified wines, sediments can be produced within a period of time after its bottling. It is recommended to store the bottle upright. Excellent both as an aperitif wine or as a dessert wine. Ideal with dried fruits, fresh cheese, quince, foie-grass and on its own.
