Les Clivelles de Torroja Ranci-Dolç, made by Celler Aixalà Alcait from Torroja del Priorat, is an oxidative wine made from overripe Carinyena grapes from the 2011 vintage. A very dry year in Torroja del Priorat, which caused a dehydration of the grapes, and it was decided to make a carinyena wine aged in an oxidative way to obtain a Sweet Rancio. The Carinyena comes from very old vines planted on the characteristic slate (Licorella soil). The cultivation of the vineyards is done under sustainable viticulture and observing the Biodynamic principles.They employ no pesticides, fungicides or herbicides.
The result is a friendlier rancio wine, suitable for those who are looking for a sweet wine and also attractive for the rancio lovers. A perfumed wine with an elegant oxidation, displaying notes of dry fruits, elegant with good acidity and length. Only a few bottles were made on this particular vintage.
Note: As all fortified wines, sediments can be produced within a period of time after its bottling. It is recommended to store the bottle upright. Ideal with pastries, cakes, dried fruits, nuts and raisins, and on its own after a meal.
