3 Macabeus is a fresh and young white wine from certified organic farming. As its name indicates, it comes from 3 different old macabeu vineyard, almost 60 years old, with low yields and planted on clay-limestone soils on the Can Milà de la Roca in the Ordal mountains.

It is a young, fresh white wine. A small-grain Macabeu, concentrated of small production. Made in the traditional way. The must undergoes a brief contact with the skin before pressing.

Tasting Notes:

A wine of great aromatic complexity with exotic touches, hints of green figs, and notes of ripe pear, citrus and floral. Freshness and good acidity on the palate with a fruity finish.

Albet i Noya is an innovative family-run winery located on the Can Vendrell de la Codina estate in the Ordal Mountain range (Barcelona) in the Penedès region. The family has been one of the pioneering organic winemakers in Spain. In 1978, the family began a long process of continuous changes, switching 100% of the estate over to organic farming methods, a commitment that has remained firm throughout more than 40 years and has earned the family a solid reputation in organic agriculture and sustainable vineyard practices.

Today, the winery is run by the fifth generation and produces a wide variety of different styles of wines and sparkling wines from both, local and foreign varieties. They control 145 hectares, of which 80.5 hectares are dedicated exclusively to vine cultivation. These are small plots with calcareous and clay soils surrounded by forests in a typically Mediterranean area in the Penedès sub-area of the Ordal Mountains.

All their production, both from their own vineyards and from their suppliers, is certified by the CCPAE (Catalan Council for Organic Agricultural Production).

In addition, Albet i Noya leads the fungus-resistant varieties project, VRIAACC (Resistant and Autochthonous Varieties Adapted to Climate change), a project that aims to reduce sulphur and cooper treatments in the vineyard as much as possible resulting in cleaner and healthier wines for the customer.
