Sin Titutlo is an experimental wine by Victoria Torres, a low-intervention white wine made from old, ungrafted vines of the Albillo and Listán Blanco varieties. The grapes are sourced from multiple plots, combining grapes from the north and south of the island of La Palma.

The albillo of the 2023 vintage comes from different plots of ungrafted vines located in the northwest area of the island, a cooler area with richer volcanic soils, at an altitude of 1200 to 1400 metres above sea level.

The Listán Blanco comes from the vintage 2022 from ungrafted vines located in the south part of the island with volcanic soils.

Production is limited; 3340 bottles have been elaborated for the 2023 vintage.

Production:

Low-intervention wine. Hand-harvested. Separate vinification by plot. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks. Aged in large wooden vats.

Tasting Notes:

Low-intervention white wine. Straw yellow colour. Aromas of citrus and white stone fruit intermixed with floral notes and herbaceous hints, fennel and fresh grass. On the palate, it is unctuous and displays a mineral and saline character. Long finish and good acidity.

THE WINERY

Victoria Torres, a native of the island of La Palma and deeply rooted in her land, is a creative and restless self-taught winemaker with no formal winemaking studies. Victoria started working with his father, helping him and absorbing all the responsibilities relating to the winery. From him, she learnt to love the vineyard, helping him through the daily work, both in the winery and in the field. As a result of her commitment, determination and curiosity, she has earned the respect of all the winegrowers.

She is the fifth generation of a family of winegrowers from the centenarian winery "Matias i Torres", one of the oldest wineries in the Canary Islands. In 2010, Victoria became the owner and caretaker of the family's winery, which has since been renamed after her: "Bodega Victoria Torres Pecis".

The winery is located in Fuencaliente, on the island of La Palma, in a magical environment recognised by UNESCO as a world biosphere reserve. The vineyards are located between 200 and 1400 metres above sea level, growing in poor soil, mostly of volcanic origin. She works approximately 7 hectares scattered all over the island. Some of the vines are over 120 years old. The vines are mostly ungrafted, as phylloxera never reached the islands.

Her entry into the winery meant a big change in the philosophy in the work and winemaking. She has succeeded in creating her own stamp by crafting simple wines and exciting blends produced in small, limited quantities. Her project has created great expectations for the quality and unique personality of her wines. All her wines are made in the most artisanal way; her approach is traditional and low intervention. Using native yeasts with spontaneous fermentation. She focuses on indigenous Canary Island varieties, including Listán Blanca, Negramol, Malvasía, Listán Prieto, Listán Negro, and Albillo. Victoria practises organic farming and applies some biodynamic principles; all work is done manually. The result is a range of wines that reflects her own interpretation when it comes to choosing the specific plots and the diversity of the blends.
