Production:

Grenache-based wine, complemented with a touch of Syrah and Merlot hand-picked grapes from the highest mountain vineyards in the Capçanes district.

Hand harvested from early September to the middle of October, the wine has fermented at a controlled temperature (27–29ºC). Each variety is vinified separately in stainless steel tanks. Aged for 9 months in medium-light toast in new, up to five-year-old French and American oak barrels of 228L. Followed by another 6 months in tank before bottling. Light filtration, no fining. Suitable for Vegans

Tasting Notes:

Medium ruby colour. Fruit-laden aromas, especially of cherry, spices, and herbs. Medium-bodied, good complexity on the mouth; dark berry fruit flavours, vanilla, and oaky toasty notes combined with notes of sweet fruit. Soft and velvety tannins on a long and refreshing finish.

Notes: To be enjoyed over the next 4-5 years.

CELLER CAPÇANES                                                                                                        

Founded in 1933 by five families from the village of Capçanes, who together established a cooperative that would handle large quantities of grapes economically and efficiently. The cooperative bears the name of the village where it is located: Capçanes, a village hidden away in the Priorato hills inland from Tarragona and with a long wine-growing history.
In the 1990s, the company was reinvented as an independent company with its original members as shareholders; today, they have around 130 members and produce a wide selection of high-quality wines, including the well-known Peraj Ha’abib, a Kosher wine, under the Montsant appellation.
