Production:

La Mare de Pascona is a classic Montsant wine with a modern touch made from 100% Grenache-selected grapes sourced from the estate's own older vines. Fermented at 15ºC for approximately 20 days, afterwards it goes through long-term ageing in 225-litre French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: Deep nose of ripe black fruit, oak, figs and vanilla. Palate dense, complex, round and smooth with great weight and freshness.

Notes: Drink now and over the next 5-6 years.

Toni Ripoll is the owner and winemaker of Celler Pascona, a small winery located in the village of Falset. He makes his wines from the 14.5 ha of vineyards divided into 17 different plots stretched around the cellar and planted on terraces with different orientations and three different types of soil: clay, granite, and the typical slate soil, locally known as llicorella.
