The 4 Gotes is one of the wines in the Gotes series by Alfredo Arribes of Clos Portal, a wine from the Vila La Morera. The grapes come from old vineyards in the highest areas, where it was customary to plant different types of Grenache. With this wine, the tradition is revived, bringing together the 4 Garnachas to represent the varietal's purity and tipicity.
Production:
Sourced from old vineyards with vines between 15 and 50 years old located in the highest hills around the triangle Bellmunt-Molar-Lloar, on high and well ventilated hillside slopes facing north and northwest at an altitude of 450 to 650 meters. The vineyards are farmed organically with minimal intervention.
The grapes are harvested by hand without rushing the ripening process. Fermentation takes place partly with whole bunches and stems. It has been aged for 8 months, partly in concrete tanks and partly in steel vats.
Tasting Notes:
As it comes from the highest and freshest side, it stands out for its freshness, with an aromatic floral and mineral imprint. Red fruit with a spicy vein of fennel and thyme. Smooth palate with plenty of flavor and character. Very pleasant and balanced finish.
