Production: 

The base wine is made with White Grenache and Macabeo, sweet wines of long ageing macerated with herbs and roots such as willow flowers and sage. It has aged using the solera system method in French oak barrels for a minimum of 24 months.

It presents a dark chestnut colour with caramel tones. Fragrant with aromas of willow blossom and sage. Sweetness and bitterness in perfect balance, displaying notes of toasted caramel, herbal hints and dried fruits. Slight bitterness and sweetness on the finish.

Ideal as an aperitif. Serve chilled (8º) on the rocks or on its own with a slice of orange peel.

The Winery

Founded in 1933 by five families from the village of Capçanes, who together established a cooperative that would handle large quantities of grapes economically and efficiently. The cooperative bears the name of the village where it is located: Capçanes, a village hidden away in the Priorato hills inland from Tarragona and with a long wine-growing history.
In the 1990s, the company was reinvented as an independent company with its original members as shareholders; today, they have around 130 members and produce a wide selection of high-quality wines, including the well-known Peraj Ha’abib, a Kosher wine, under the Montsant appellation.
