Adrià's personal wine, from Les Cousins Marc & Adrià. For some years now, they had in mind to break away from the norm, having been used to doing everything together and always reaching a mutual agreement when taking every decision between the two cousins. Finally, they have decided to take the plunge, and this time they are going for it. The result is some elegant, beautifully crafted wine.
For a single, exclusive vintage – the 2023 harvest – cousins Marc & Adrià are setting out to produce their own wine separately. This is an extremely limited release; it is a true one-off, which will be produced just this once and will never be repeated. These wines are characterised by their highly personal and individual nature, reflecting the character of each cousin and representing a significant solo challenge.
Production:
Adrià is a wine that embodies freshness, tension and liveliness. To achieve this, Adrià blends equal parts white Grenache from the north-facing vineyards of Masos d'en Ferra and black Grenache from the century-old, south-facing vines of the Trosset de l'Adolf estate.
Manually harvested; upon arrival at the winery, the whole grapes are crushed and undergo maceration with the skins and stems for 12 days. The wine ages for 6 months in a new, 1500-litre Austrian oak cask and 6 months in 54-litre demijohns.
Bottled in January 2025. Total of 998 bottles.
Tasting Notes:
A fresher feeling, displaying red fruits, minerals and spices. The palate is round and smooth, nicely balanced with good fruit and structure. A must-drink!
THE PROJECT
Les Cousins is a label made by two cousins, Marc & Adrià Perez. They started this new project together in 2007, located in the village of Porrera, within the appellation of Priorat. They both have gained wide experience working and studying in various vineyards and projects abroad, including the Cims de Porrera project and the family's vineyards and winery (Mas Martinet), which have made them well-known in the winemaking sector.
