L'Exclosa is the new wine released by Bodegas Mas Alta in Vilella Alta, Priorat. This rare wine is made from the Serine variety, a primitive clone of the Syrah variety, coming from the northern Rhône, a variety that was practically forgotten due to its low productivity. Once it was brought in, it was planted in one of the bodega's recovered vineyards, the Paraje de la Beana, just 0.8 ha southeast-facing at a height of 350 to 450 meters. It has been cultivated organically and is certified ecologically by the CCPAE.

Serine is a low-yielding variety, with an average yield of 800 kg harvested, producing just about 600 bottles.

Because of the uniqueness of its coupage, it cannot be classified as a DOQ, a Paraje or a Vila wine; it can only be classified as a generic D.O.Q. Priorat. For this reason, it is an EX (for excluded) and a CLOS, since it is a Clos wine, since the estate where the grapes come from is a Clos, and an A, because it is a female variety.

Production: 

Fermented in cement, followed by ageing in 228-litre oak barrels with a second phase of ageing in a 400-litre ceramic vat for approximately 4 to 6 months.
