The firm’s non-vintage brut The White Foil is a traditional blend of all three champagne grapes, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay, in equal parts. A fine example of the house style, maintaining the highest standards of quality consistently, vintage after vintage.
Production:
The grapes are sourced from 30 different Crus spread throughout the 80 hectares of vineyards in and around Epernay and along the northern Côte de Blancs. A blend of 25% reserve wines with 4 years minimum ageing in the cellars.
Tasting notes:
Light but structured, fresh yet ripe and fruity, and ready to drink. Golden straw coloured with fine bubbles and a pronounced nose of fresh aromas of hazelnuts, brioche, and apricot fruit, with hints of honeysuckle and floral notes.
The palate is fruity, with a lovely note of ripe nectarine fruit, lingering and sustained by elegant acidity. Reminiscent of a vintage style more than a non-vintage style.
Note: Ideal for enjoying throughout the meal, from the aperitif to the dessert. If stored with care, it can be enjoyed now and for years to come.
The house of Pol Roger was founded in 1849 by Pol Roger, a native of Ay, and his son Maurice Pol-Roger brought the family firm to success. Today, the House is run by the fifth generation, which includes the founder's cousin and great-grandsons. They are fully committed to observing the high standards of quality for which the house is renowned and ensuring that the firm maintains its style and quality from vintage to vintage.
