Production:

Natural and ecological red wine, produced from a blend of grapes, mainly Carinyena and Marselan, coming from high-altitude vineyards growing on poor slate hillsides between 800 and 900 meters above sea level up the hills of Prades in the small village of Vilanova de Prades.

The grapes growing at high altitudes are noted for their higher natural acidity content, which benefits the production of a wine of much higher quality that exhibits an amazing depth, concentration, and complexity—qualities that contribute to its unique personality and give them a remarkable capacity for ageing.

The wines are produced in a traditional way, with small production and practicing a viticulture with high respect for the environment, following the rules of organic viticulture, both in the vineyard and in the winery, and the lunar phase calendar. The vines are organically farmed and duly certified by the authority CCPAE, the Catalan Council of Organic Production, the public watchdog responsible to the ministry of Agriculture of the Catalan Government

The grapes have been manually harvested, fermented in concrete tank with natural yeast, and aged partly in a 3000-litre concrete tank and in old barrels for 8 months. Bottled without being clarified or filtered. Natural wine containing less than 4 mg/L in total of SO2.

The wine is not classified under the Denomination of Origin Conca de Barberà

Tasting Notes: 

Lovely and round fruit, black and ripe fruit slightly spiced, aromas of blackberries and blackcurrant with a herbaceous touch. The palate is very smooth with dark berry fruit flavours and wonderful hints of spice. A great natural freshness and cool style.
